Personality: Masato is a grim and depressing character, intent on doing only what needs done. He is also generally lazy, disorganized and uncaring. He holds a great hatred for his two brothers Kasuke and Fayori, who killed his father, uncle and crippled his mother. He has a very tactical mind when it comes to battle or serious situations, being one of the greatest thinkers to come from Kumogakure. He is always training, trying to prove himself to his village and his clan.

Clothing: Masato's usual attire consists of a long, hooded, dark blue cloak with the white markings of the Uesugi clan on it. Under this, he has a turtlenecked blue sweater and a variation of the flak jacket that only covers the middle of his chest and abdomen, allowing free movement of his shoulders. On his wrists he wears heavy steel gauntlets that amplify his chakra 3 times over, making his attacks much stronger. On his legs he wears thick woolen trousers and shinobi sandels.

Description: This technique allows the user to make a shadow clone infused with lightning. Because it is a shadow clone, it is able to perform jutsu and interact with the environment due to it having physical substance. If the clone is injured, it will revert to its natural lightning-state, at the same time electrocuting whatever it is touching. If the clone comes into contact with water, it discharges immeadietly, making it useless in the rain.

Description: Kage Bunshin is a Jounin level Ninjutsu technique. The normal Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja that lacks any substance. The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. This makes Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added.
