Naruto: Tale of the Tails

Over a decade ago, the Third Great Shinobi World War came to a close. The conflict had exhausted the resources of many of the five great villages, along with the nations themselves, and ushered in an era of apprehension and suspicion between the villages. Even as the Yondaime Hokage sacrificed himself to halt the ravenous advance of the Nine-Tailed Fox, and the Hidden Sand Village elected their Yondaime Kazekage, the Hidden Mist Village is undergoing drastic reform, and the remaining villages are left to deal with their own affairs. However, the seeds planted during this period will come to bloom sooner than any may have suspected, which is where our story begins.

Throughout the globe, groups of young, talented Shinobi are graduating their respective academies and becoming Genin. Among these newcomers are Naruto Uzumaki, the child into which the Kyuubi’s energy was infused, Sasuke Uchiha, a prodigal son of the revered Uchiha clan, Gaara of the Desert, the host to the Shukaku and Yondaime Kazekage’s son, and Neji Hyuga, a supremely talented boy born into the Hyuga clan. Such talent does not end with these few examples, however, and around the world, more and more fierce and resolute Shinobi are graduating each year. Whether from Leaf, Sand, Mist, Rock, or Cloud; these children will be the forerunners that lead the world to a new era, whether it be one of serenity or strife. A few questions remain…who is friend, who is foe, and where will you fit into this epic tale?

Tale of the Tails is a literate, intermediate level role-playing site based in the canonical plot of Naruto. Beginning with the first of the story’s events, Tale of the Tails will add original characters, sub-plots, and back stories to further enrich the world of Naruto. We welcome members of all backgrounds and experience levels, and our greatest wish is that you are able to participate in a fantastic and creative role-playing experience.
